Wellesley Toyota's Prius Family

Posted by Josh Chang on Thu, Jan 17, 2013 @ 11:35 AM

Last year, Wellesley Toyota began offering a full line of Prius vehicles for those of you looking for amazing fuel economy and a comfortable drive. The original Prius was and is a fantastic car, but Toyota realized some customers would prefer a slightly smaller version, while others would prefer a slightly larger version with more cargo space. That's why the Prius, which had been on its own since 1997, became a full fledged family!

Prius

Wellesley Toyota PriusThis is the one that started it all - the original Prius you've come to know and love. Currently in its 3rd generation, the Prius has been going strong since 1997 and continues to deliver something for everyone. With a smooth drive, library-quiet operation, class-leading fuel economy, and the reliability of Toyota, you can't go wrong with the original Prius. On the outside, Toyota invested many hours in aerodynamic testing to achieve a 0.25 drag coefficient, allowing for an EPA-estimated 50 combined mpg rating as well as a remarkably roomy interior. Trust me, I have been pleasantly surprised many times at how much you can fit into the original Prius!

Prius v

Wellesley Toyota Prius vHowever, if you need a bit more space for whatever you're hauling around, the Prius v is your car. At first glance, it looks a lot like its older brother, but take a closer look and you can see the rear has been enlarged, making the Prius v more of a crossover utility vehicle or wagon than a full-sized sedan. While its no minivan, with 34.3 cubic feet of cargo space, the Prius v has more cargo space than most small SUV's in the market. With the rear seats giving you a plethora of seating and cargo configurations, there's an endless array of options for storing your stuff! Plus, there's tons of small storage compartments for the smaller stuff.

Prius c

Wellesley Toyota Prius cHere's the little brother: the Prius c, also known as the smallest member of the Prius Family. It's also the most affordable Prius ever made, and its compact size makes it perfect if you're living in the city where the roads are narrow and parking is hard to come by. In my opinion, the Prius c is also the sportiest looking Prius, with a rear spoiler nicely adding to the effect. Available in a variety of fun colors, the Prius c gives you the amazing fuel economy you're looking for in a fun and compact package.

Prius Plug-In Hybrid

Wellesley Toyota Prius Plug-InIf you want the best fuel economy possible, this guy is definitely your best bet. The Plug-In is your original Prius, with one key difference. It has a rechargeable battery giving you the added benefit of electric driving capability. You simply plug the car into your home outlet, let it charge for a few hours and you will be able to drive up to 11 miles on 100% electric power. If you go faster than 62 mph or use up your 11 mile range, you've got the traditional hybrid technology to take you wherever you need to go! If you combine the electric capabilities with the traditional hybrid motor, you've got a combined estimated 95 mpg! This car is perfect for those who drive around town and have short commutes. Just charge the car at night for your morning commute, keep the car plugged in when you're at work or running errands, and you won't be using any gas at all! If you do need to make a longer drive, you've got the amazingly efficient hybrid motor. It's literally the best of both worlds.

The Prius Plug-In brochure is coming soon.
